How room access works
LiveShareIt does not require an account. An open room is unlisted, but anyone who has or guesses its link can read and edit it. A locked room additionally requires its room password. Password protection is access control; it is not end-to-end encryption.
What is stored
The service stores room text, uploaded files, canvas and diagram data, polls and votes, room settings, and operational timestamps. Session cookies keep locked-room authorization in your browser. Web server and abuse-prevention systems may temporarily process IP addresses and request metadata.
Files and encryption
Traffic should be protected with HTTPS in production. Room content and files are stored on the server and are not currently end-to-end encrypted. Uploaded files are not currently malware-scanned; only open files you trust. Potentially active HTML and SVG downloads are served with a non-executable content type.
AI features
When you use an AI feature, the prompt and the room content or attachments you select are sent to the configured Google Gemini service to produce the response. Do not send sensitive content to AI unless you are comfortable sharing it with that provider.
Analytics and retention
Google Analytics is used across the service, while Google advertising scripts are limited to the public landing page. Room content, filenames, passwords, and management credentials are not intentionally included in analytics events.
Rooms currently have no automatic expiration and may remain stored until removed by the operator. To request deletion, include the room URL and proof that you are authorized to manage it.
